Both the boys and girls basketball teams advanced to the secound round of the Northfield Invitational Tournament.

The girls basketball team defeated Assumption 40 - 16 and will advance to Wednesday's semifinal game against Absecon. Addie Pepper and Maddie Taylor sparked the T'birds defense as they forced many turnovers for Assumption. Laura Livington and Jade O'Neil led the T'Birds to victory with a combined 25 points while Sammy Funk contributed 5 points.

The boys basketball team took down Somers Point 54-18, ignited by Luke Kerrigan who came off the bench on fire hitting 4 three pointers on way to a game high 16 points. With the team up big and lots of game left, young guns AJ Goukler and Matt Borini came in and grew the lead against the Jaguars varsity team. Next up for the T'Birds is a matchup against Margate on Wednesday the 23rd at 6:45.

The teams were cheered on by a fantastic student section. We hope you will join in the fun during our games next week!

Before the game, 8th graders (pictured from left to right) Josie Voermans, Laura Livingston, and Maddie Taylor were joined on the court by their parents to celebrate their last regular season home game @ NCS. We wish them the best in any future athletic endeavors.

Last night the boys basketball team battled until the very end, but ultimately came up short, losing 49-42 against a tough Linwood squad in the Linwood Holiday Tournament Championship game. Colt Russo lead the T'Birds with 11 points including a highlight reel three point play that got the crowd on their feet. Griffin Fitzgerald joined Colt in double figures with a 10 point performance of his own, and Jake Blum took him the team MVP award.
